Patricia and Louise are delighted to welcome two crime practitioners Pip Evans and Claire Bissett who have joined the crime team at criminal and family law firm Aitken Harter. They recently took the difficult decision to close Evans Bissett, their practice based in Kentish Town when property developers appeared on the NW5 horizon so Kentish Town’s loss is our gain at 398, Caledonian Road London N1 1DN.
Pip and Claire joined forces in July 2002 to found Evans Bissett and in the intervening period have developed and managed a successful crime practice in the adjoining London borough of Camden. As Pip says “We have worked in North London for many years and have strong links to the area. “
Pip and Claire’s experience and knowledge of all aspects of criminal defence work is second to none. Their recent trial work has included large scale fraud, firearms and murder allegations.
They will enhance our existing crime team as will four of their former colleagues (all solicitor advocates) who have joined us here as consultants. Each brings a specialist skill to the crime team.
Janice Arenstein specialises in magistrates’ court and youth court advocacy. In addition she manages the Central Bookings Advocacy team details of which are at www.centralbookingadvocates.com.
Bridget Irving undertakes contested work in the crown court (Wood Green, Blackfriars, Snaresbrook and elsewhere) as well as in the lower criminal courts. She specialises in representing particularly vulnerable clients in the crown court.
Dan O’Callaghan specialises in magistrates’ court and youth court advocacy. Like Janice and Bridget, he is a familiar figure at Highbury Corner and our other local courts. He brings a depth of knowledge to our advocacy team.
Anna Turnbull-Walker specialises in acting for clients with mental health issues.
We shall be updating our website shortly with full details of our new colleagues.
